The Hall County EMA Search team has participated in 2 recent searches. On February 7th, the team responded with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office as mutual aid to a search in Jackson County for a 76 year old man who was missing from his home. Five field team and 2 support team members were involved in this search. The subject was not in the search area and returned home later that night.
The 2nd search, on February 21st, was for a missing 86 year old man in the Chicopee area of Hall County. On this search 1 support team and 8 field team members assisted the Hall County Sheriff’s office with the the planning and ground search. Two ground teams were deployed: 1 to do an area search of the hub area around the Last Known Point and another to do a hasty search of the connecting road between Chicopee Village and Palmour Drive along with one of the bike trails. Units from Gainesville, White County and GSP also participated. The subject was located by helicoper borne infra-red device, checked out by medical personnel and returned to his home.
For these 2 searches a total of 96 person hours of volunteer time was logged.
